Trigger Finger :A1 pulley surgery

Trigger Finger :A1 pulley surgery

1️⃣ Trigger finger happens when the flexor tendon gets stuck due to thickening at the pulley (usually A1 pulley).

2️⃣ Common symptoms include:
• Finger locking or catching
• Pain in palm near finger base
• Morning stiffness
• Clicking sensation during movement

3️⃣ Diabetes, repetitive gripping activities, and rheumatoid arthritis increase the risk of trigger finger.

4️⃣ Early treatment includes:
• Activity modification
• Splinting
• Anti-inflammatory medications
• Steroid injection

5️⃣ Persistent locking or severe cases may need a small surgical release procedure with excellent success rates.
